State of the Art Mobile Service Unit

As a complete thru-tubing specialist, we now offer customers a state-of-the-art Mobile Service Unit (MSU), and Real time coiled tubing telemetry data van – allowing us to expand our land based thru-tubing and real time coil tubing telemetry.

The MSU is an innovative, self-sustained truck and trailer unit, fitted with a Satellite communication system, workshop and office quarters. It is also used to assemble and maintain inventory tools and equipment for land based thru-tubing jobs. The MSU is equipped with a shop table, torque machine, and customized racks to store 4TL extensive thru tubing tools and redress kits. The separate office comprises of 2 desks with 2 x 27” monitors and a large mounted 40” screen – displaying all coiled tubing and thru tubing downhole real time downhole telemetry data, during coiled tubing operations.

The Satellite communication system provides us with the ability to stream our downhole telemetry to our office-based personnel and customers, even in remote areas where no local 4G communications are available.

The MSU allows us to be more efficient, providing a wider array of tools onsite and to mitigate downtime caused by unexpected events. The trailer is powered primarily by plugging into a land-based power source with typical 30amp RV hook ups; however, for remote locations, the MSU can sustain itself by means of either an on-board diesel generator or an intrinsic battery system.

Tubing patch damage cleared & full wellbore access regained

A major operator in the Taranaki region of New Zealand regained access to TD, and restored production in a gas well which had suspected Tubing Patch damage, where previous Thru Tubing intervention work had not been successful with a junk mill.

Taranaki Thru Tubing Tools were then selected to provide a downhole tool solution which would provide the highest chance of success.
